The Salem Witch Trials is a period when the New England area was plagued with hysteria and accusations. This period is the setting for Arthur Miller’s play THE CRUCIBLE and explores a town that falls apart and loses its sense of community to the scare of witches. The play follows John Proctor and his relationship with his wife Elizabeth, the accuser Abigail Williams, and the town of Salem.
